Value Yourself and the Work You Do

If You Don't How Do You Expect Others To?

How much do you value yourself and the work you do? Self-love is something you cannot deny yourself. Others will only treat you according to how you treat yourself. The best gift you can award yourself is self-appreciation. It is impossible to flourish without valuing yourself first. Don’t expect others to value you if you do not love yourself truly. Taking a job that makes you lose yourself is the quickest way to self-destruction.

Complacency will only lead to unlimited unhappiness. Self-respect is everything whether in relationships or workplaces. It is important to love yourself enough to choose things that make you happy and reject everything else that does not motivate you to grow.

A lack of self-respect will lead to self-destructive behaviors, depression, anxiety and limitless stress. Your colleagues will never show you love and respect if you don’t take care of yourself. You cannot afford to let others disrespect or treat you poorly just because you do not recognize your self-worth. Remember, we only accept what we think we deserve. With that in mind, it is time to take control of your life. If you degrade your worth, be prepared to attract the same from others. Never hesitate to walk away from jobs that lower your self-esteem.

You should never tolerate anything that makes you doubt your self-worth if you want to be happy in life. Your workplace is like a second home. In fact, you spend more time at work than anywhere else. If you are not happy there, it’s more likely to affect other aspects of your life negatively too. The fastest way to abundant happiness is taking pride in who you are and the work you do.

How do I get there?

Physical well-being

Start by enhancing your physical well-being. Be your own best friend by improving your overall physical wellness through proper dieting, exercising and self-grooming. Create enough time to do things that help to enhance your physical well-being such as swimming, weight-lifting, jogging, walking, martial arts and cycling among others without making lame excuses.

Emotional Well-Being

It is important to ensure that your emotional well-being is worthy of appreciation. Start by honoring your deepest values and surveying your environment for things that make you both happy and unhappy. Building self-confidence, self-esteem, and self-respect require sacrifice, time and energy. Avoid things that make you feel resentful, stressed, angry or anxious for your own emotional well-being. It is also important to act on things that matter the most. Focusing on things that bring you agony will only result in self-devaluing.

Always have the courage to value yourself even when you feel devalued. To feel valuable, you must be loving, kind and compassionate. By eliminating all negative emotions from your life, your self-value will be elevated than ever before.

In summary, others cannot acknowledge you when you are always berating yourself, people will not agree with everything you say/do all the time, others will only respect you if you respect yourself first and finally, don’t expect others to make you a priority if all you do is degrade yourself.
