Confidence in yourself is a very shaky thing to develop. It's amazing how the very things that people expect to boost confidence end up devaluing their self-confidence. Confidence in yourself stems from a lot of factors, least of which is not the family and childhood experiences. Your family sets the precedence of how you feel about yourself and how much value you place on yourself. But regardless of background values and family situations, each needs to be capable of getting into themselves and finding that reserve of self-confidence, particularly at those points in life when it appears like you have little or nothing to offer.
When you are feeling at your lowest, and failure seems to weigh you down, this is the time to re-evaluate and figure out the talents and strengths which lie deep within you. We all have some innate source of strength, from which our most amazing, world-changing abilities stem from. You might have tried your hands at a number of things and not been able to excel or get any source of personal peace and fulfillment from them.
Get your strength back and reclaim your confidence. Take your time and invest in some of your personal wants and hobbies that give you inner peace and healing. Every time you face a challenge or seem to fail at something, it’s just another opportunity to rediscover your hidden strengths and talents, figuring out other ways to excel.
Talents, we all have one of those, it’s about time you discover yours, use them, and feel great about yourself by using your strengths and talents. No matter how mundane that talent might appear, it could potentially help you achieve a lot. Confidence comes from that assurance deep within you that you are capable of making yourself proud and doing right by you. In as much as we might want to gain confidence from doing things to earn praise and reaffirmation from external factors, friends, spouses, parents, bosses, the real test of confidence is the self.
The best way to achieve true confidence from yourself, which needs no external validation from any other person, is discovering that thing within you that you are supposed to be doing. This is where your talents and personal achievements will help to scale the walls of doubt and fear. There is no pressure, it's your race and your creation. It's okay not to get it right always or immediately, but if this is what you are meant to do, this is who you are, trust in it and don't let go. Be confident in yourself, because no one else could be you or do you.
Do not compare yourself to any other person, each one has their race to run, and one person is just as important as the other. Never forget this, your confidence in yourself cannot be measured against someone else's achievements, but against your happiness and fulfillment. Your failures and triumphs are yours to evaluate and work on, and you are a perfect piece of art in yourself, do not let go of the confidence that makes you bloom and excel.
Today, I need you to look fear in the face; this will help you to regain strength and confidence from every experience you encounter today.
