Most often, the majority of women are crippled by their overwhelming responsibilities, lack of opportunity and support so much so that they lose sense of who they are and who they are supposed to be. Their uniqueness gets washed up and they often find themselves associating their growth with weakness, so much so that they don't even recognize when the special light within them shines bright and shapes their future. How then do you find that uniqueness that is within you?
Believe in yourself
Exploring your uniqueness begins with taking a leap of faith and believing in yourself. Regardless of your position, you should believe that you can indeed achieve what you set out to because of who you are as an individual, separate from the world around you. Believing in yourself also gives you the strength to take the next step in the journey of self-exploration.
Take pleasure in your interests
We all have different interests and often, your uniqueness lies in that which brings you happiness. You should, therefore, take time for yourself to find and take pleasure in your interests. This should be done regardless of what the society around you thinks or says of your interests. The reason this is important is that it gives the confidence to partake in something aside from your usual activities, thereby growing your esteem.
Separate yourself from everything around you
If you are always attributing your individuality to the world around you, you will never give yourself enough room to grow. It is okay to associate your personal success in the world around you but it is also important that you don't give all the credit to the said world. This separation allows you to take pride in your individuality, uniqueness, contributions and everything else that you have to offer.
Be patient with yourself
Finding that special self within you is a personal journey. I say personal journey because your success rate will always be very different from another person. You should be patient with yourself, even as you try to discover your uniqueness. Never give up on the journey however long it takes to achieve your goals.
Be accountable
Like any journey of self-discovery, there will be challenges and failures. Most people fail in self-discovery by only looking at their strengths and successes and completely disregarding their weaknesses and failures. You should be accountable for both sides of the divide as this is the surest way to find that special light within you.
At the end of the day, you should know that you are a special individual separate from the rest of the world around you. If you haven't, you should find that thing within you that makes you absolutely special. If you have, you should make sure to grow that uniqueness and let it bloom.
