YOU HAVE TO LEARN TO ASK YOURSELF WHAT IS MOST IMPORTANT TO YOU, THAT IS WHEN YOU CAN FOCUS ON YOUR

Have you ever set goals to achieve for a specific period and when you are close to achieving them or getting to the finishing line, something happens and you are stuck? You get stuck and you find that you are unable to progress further. Have you ever felt that there is something that holds you back from achieving your dreams or goals? Has there been a time when you were so sure of achieving a goal only to relent later on?

We all have experienced this at one time or the other and the reason isn't farfetched. The reason why you are unable to focus on your goals or dreams is simply because the things you consider important to you and your goals are in conflict. Now, the question is, what are the things you consider important to you and how do you determine them to focus on your goals and dreams.

Dr. John Dermatini is of the opinion that we live by a set of values, a set of priorities, things that we consider meaningful and important and things that we consider the least important. And when we live harmoniously with our values, we find it relatively easy to maximize our potentials, achieve our goals and thus, lead a fulfilling life. On the flip side, when we live harmoniously with the less important things and our lower values, we end up frustrated. Thus, procrastination becomes the order of the day.

Now, the key to identifying the important things to you and focusing on your goals is to identify your highest values and ensure that you align your goals with your values. This increases your chances of focusing on your goals and achieving them.

When the goals you map out for yourself aligns with the important things to you and your values, you are inspired to take actions. You are inspired to do the things that push you towards achieving your goals.

Identifying your values and the things you consider important to you will help you focus on your goals and dreams.

An American self-help author and motivational speaker who goes by the name Anthony Robbins recommends two process to identify your values and the things you consider important.

1. Identify your values, and the important things you like. Then, rank them according to their importance.

2. Ask yourself this question: What are the things I need to consider important in order for me to achieve the goals I have mapped for myself?

Write down a list and rank them according to their importance. After writing, analyze them and see the ones you need to get rid of and the ones you need to include to create that quality life you want for yourself.

Bear in mind that your values and the things you consider important go a long way in shaping your destiny. Make a list of the things you consider important today and become energized to focus on your goals till you achieve them.
