Stress is when you worry about things that are out of your control

Most people often associate thinking with worrying. So, when they see someone thinking, they just conclude that the person is worrying too much. Sadly, that’s not true. Thinking is a mental exercise whereas worrying, on the other hand, is a problem. The problem with worrying is that at the end of the day it gets almost nothing solved and even ends up compounding the problem. Worrying is associated with depression, sadness, and even anger. And all of these are not healthy for the mind and the body. While there is a problem in front of you and instead of putting your mind to use on how you can solve it effectively and efficiently, you subject yourself to a more dangerous situation, worrying.

Worrying exact undue pressure on the brain and hinders the mind from doing any active, positive exercise. It brings the mind to a state of helplessness and weakness. This makes you as an individual unaware of what you can do to help yourself and remedy the situation. So, you just sit down there and drown yourself in thoughts that would not yield any positive result.

Here is a little tip, always ask yourself these questions; if there is a problem before me and I can do something about it, why worry? If there is a problem before me and I can’t do anything about it, why still worry?

Now, look at the second question. You have a problem that is totally out of your hand, and you know that you can’t do a thing about it because it is out of your control. Then, there is no need to worry. The fact that you know that it is out of your control should make you less worried and look for who or how you can get someone who can fix it to help you fix it. This is the thing; whether you worry about it or not, the outcome would still be the same. If it were to end up badly, worrying about it will obviously not change that bad outcome to a good one. So you just relax and look for ways to work it out. When you worry, you deny yourself the possibility of challenging the status quo or dealing with the outcome.

What I am trying to say is this, instead of worrying yourself out because the situation is out of your control, why not prepare yourself for the outcome. Yes, stand up and start getting yourself ready for the inevitable result. Yes, because you certainly do know what would happen next. That’s an advantage for you. You take that knowledge of the result and turn it into a weapon against the inevitable end. You see, by so doing you will be dealing with the problem, because it is not the problem that is the problem, it is the result of the problem that is the problem. Dealing with the result is the best way to deal with the problem. Stop worrying and keep your head focused on what is to come, face it and you will eventually be the winner in what would have been a loose win fight for you.
