EPSOM SALT VS. HIMALAYAN SALT

EPSOM SALT VS. HIMALAYAN SALT AND THEIR DIFFERENT BENEFITS

The scientific study of salts shows that they are a combination of chemical components with opposite ion charges, and these ions come from a metal element and a non-metal element. The combinations of charges that make up salts always balance out to give zero. And it is necessary to know that among the two charged ions, the one with positive charges are gotten from the positive ions in metals and are called cations, while the one with negative charges are gotten from the negative ions in non-metals and are called anions.

There are many various types of salts, and they differ because of the elements that make up their combination in different charged proportions. Now, let us look at the difference between the Epsom salt and the Himalayan salt; then we will go further to discuss their benefits.

Epsom salt:

Epsom salt is a combination of magnesium and sulfate, with magnesium ions as its positively charged ion and sulfate ions as its negatively charged ions. The name Epsom is given because of a saltwater spring at a place called Epsom in Surrey, England. There have been results from different studies that show that the nature of the human skin makes it easy for magnesium and sulfate to both be easily absorbed, and research on Epsom salt baths reveals that it is one of the best means which a person can benefit from the healthy advantages attributed to this salt.

The two major mineral components contained in the Epsom salt both have health benefits that are needed in the body.

  • The magnesium content of the Epsom salt regulates the activities of enzymes in the human body.

  • The Epsom salt help reduces inflammation.

  • Epsom salt can be used to keep the muscle and nerve functioning smoothly.

  • The magnesium content in the Epsom salt prevents the artery from hardening.

  • Therapists use this salt to relieve migraine and headaches.

  • The sulfate content of the Epsom salt is used to treat athlete’s foot disease.

  • Epsom salt flushes toxins out

Himalayan salt:

The Himalayan salt is gotten from the Himalayas which happens to be mountains that span 2400 kilometers across Asia; the salt crystals on these mountains have very clear pink colors, and it takes after the shapes of tiny rock.

Research and studies performed on the Himalayan salt show that it has a unique intermolecular structure that makes it possible to store some quantum energy. This salt contains reduced sodium per serving when compared to the regular table salt (NaCl), it has compositions of sulfate, calcium, iodine, sodium chloride, potassium, and magnesium minerals that come in stable proportions. This salt possesses around 80 minerals that are really beneficial to the human health.

Below, we will be looking at most of the benefits contained in Himalayan salt:

  • Himalayan salt regulates the water level in the body.

  • The PH level in the body can be kept balanced using this salt.

  • It supplements the blood sugar to maintain healthy levels.

  • It improves nerve electro-charge and response ability.

  • Research has discovered that it is an anti-aging agent.

  • The salt helps to improve heart functions

  • The Himalayan salt improves respiratory health.

  • It helps relieve muscle cramps

  • Regular use of the Himalayan salt contributes to better sleep for people who have insomnia.

  • This salt helps to induce healthy libido.

  • It cleans up the kidney and urinary tracts.

So with the knowledge of these two salts and their benefits, we can comfortably point out that the major difference between the Epsom salt and the Himalayan salt is in their composition. The Epsom salt contains two major elements while the Himalayan salt contains a variety of elements.
