Just do it! Stop Waiting

There is so much waiting to be done but we all lack the push to start crossing off each activity on the to-do list. It is a common unfortunate trend that affects even the best of us. This spirit of waiting for the right moment to take action restricts growth and often leads to depression and never-ending excuses. To address this uncanny trend, there are few things that can be done to end the ‘waiting for the right opportunity fever’ and they are:

  • Begin now

Whatever it is that you want to achieve, begin now. You have already thought of doing it and all that remains is taking action. Procrastinating only delays the inevitable and steals most of your precious time. Do not wait for the perfect conditions, this will only lead to missing opportunities to learn and grow. That dream or goal you have always wanted to achieve it is time to take action. Start hands on approach right now.

  • Envision success

We all chase after success but waiting will never allow its achievement. To help end this fever, picture success and let it act as an incentive to commence your journey towards achieving your dreams. Envisioning success causes a chain reaction that acts as self-drive to start working on achieving it. Success is sweet but failure is bitter. Have your mind set through picturing success.

  • Be accountable

Most of the times we fail to start something is due to lack of accountability. When one is accountable, it will always dawn on you that there is something waiting to be done. Let your friends, family or colleagues at your work place know what you hope to achieve. Do not be defensive when they ask how far you have gone to achieve it. Let them help you keep track of your progress. In addition to being accountable, find a mentor to guide you through every step. Also, keep the company of successful people and learn how they did it.

  • Focus

Too many plans contribute in delaying the start of projects since there is no spare time to allocate to it. Plan your schedule to help find time for that project you want to start but cannot find the right time. Set your priorities straight to lay off any unnecessary activities hindering you from starting your projects. Once you begin to work on your projects or goals, it will be hard to stop half way. Avoid distractions and see it through to the end.

  • Lay down the excuses

This is the biggest reason why nothing gets done. When it is time to begin working, there is always an excuse. “Am too tired to start, there is no enough time, I do not have all the resources to start doing it” all these are excuses that drag us down and drain our energy to start our projects. In order to start doing it, stop giving excuses. Work with what you have and eventually the task will be accomplished.

Stop waiting anymore. Read through the above tips and start doing whatever it is that cannot find the right conditions to start. Stay sharp and do not let anything stop you.
